What is collected and why
Public pages have no analytics, advertising pixels, third-party scripts, external fonts or embedded chatbot. For access to the personal timeline, your email is passed to the mail provider to deliver the requested code. The application does not store the email in plain text. It stores keyed fingerprints of the address and connection IP for abuse prevention, together with a hashed access code and expiry. These fingerprints remain pseudonymised personal data.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, access security and proportionate abuse prevention rely on legitimate interests in protecting this personal profile and its visitors. Professional enquiries may also involve steps at your request before a contract. No address is added to a mailing list.
Cookies and retention
One strictly necessary session cookie protects forms and authenticated access. It is HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax and Secure over HTTPS. Codes expire in 15 minutes and are deleted on successful use. Expired application records are purged on access and by the scheduled hourly purge; rate-limit records expire within one hour. Authenticated access ends after at most four hours. The application keeps no visitor access logs. Container diagnostic output is bounded to 10 MiB; upstream infrastructure retention must be verified. SQLite records are excluded from application backups.
Providers and transfers
The site is hosted by Hetzner Cloud in Nuremberg, Germany. Access emails are delivered through Novatrend in Switzerland and your own mail provider. These providers may process delivery queues and technical records under their service conditions, separately from the application database. Contact contact@vmsoto.ch for information or a rights request concerning these processing activities.
Email enquiries and external links
Contact buttons open your own email software. Your email provider and the recipient’s mail service then handle the correspondence. Professional messages are kept only as necessary for the enquiry or relationship and any applicable legal obligations. LinkedIn and other external sites are contacted only when you follow their links; their own privacy notices apply.
Your rights
Depending on the applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Write to contact@vmsoto.ch. You may complain to the Swiss FDPIC or, where relevant, the competent European supervisory authority. No automated recruitment decisions or profiling of visitors take place.
Security and limitations
Codes are single-use, protected by a server-side secret and limited in attempts. Images belonging to the personal timeline require an authenticated session. An email code verifies access to a mailbox; it does not verify a visitor’s profession or prevent an authorised visitor from copying content.
